Want To Do A True Raw Bench Press Routine? 3 Reasons Why You Should Never Do It Alone

A good sparring partner is absolutely essential for your bench press strength routine. Hard core lifters are well aware of this, but if you are still in the bench press beginners crowd, you may overlook it, or simply ignore it. After all, as a bench press beginner, and especially if you are just starting out, you are probably seeing some progress. It is natural, your body is adopting and you feel like there is no limit to how much bench weight you can lift.

Do not be fooled! The longevity and ultimately the results of your bench press routines depend on more than just how much you can lift at the time.

1. First and foremost, you need to adopt a correct bench press technique. Knowing how to lift weights and actually lifting them are two entirely different things. When doing a bench press, you cannot see yourself and the only corrections to your bench press form can come from other people. That's where a good sparring partner is priceless. It is very easy to pick up wrong bench press technique. With a spot partner, you will be corrected immediately after a mistake or a bad form is spotted, enabling you to adopt a perfect bench press technique right from the start.

2. Without a motivation, your bench press strength routine is doomed from the beginning. There are no shortcuts and you simply cannot go through a raw bench press routine if your motivation is not through the roof. Bench press beginners may not have a problem with it, at least not at first, simply because their quick progress is a great motivator to come back to the gym. But it does not take long for the progress to slow down. This is very hard to go through, but with a sparring partner, it is much easier. Not only he motivates you when in the gym, he also motivates you outside the gym. You know you are not alone in it, you know that someone is there to go through the hard times with you. In order to increase bench press strength you need to stay on top of your routine. Trust me, it is much easier with a sparring partner.

3. If you want to increase bench press strength you need to keep increasing the bench weight beyond physical and often also beyond psychological limit. Even if you could overcome the psychological barrier alone, you cannot overcome the physical one. Pushing the bench weight up will inevitably result in some failed attempts. Without a spot partner, the risk of injury is too high to ignore. Safety during your bench press workout is not something you should take lightly because an injury can significantly delay reaching your goals or even make it impossible altogether.

Getting a sparring partner needs to be one of the thing you need to follow through with. Without one, doing a raw bench press routine is practically impossible. Your bench press strength depends on it. So find one. The sooner, the better.

What is a good weight to bench and squat for college football?

I'm goin to college to play football this coming fall. I'm 5'11' and weigh 188 pounds. So, what is a good weight for a safety to bench press and squat? And I also need to know what I can do to increase my speed. Every lil bit of info helps. Thanks for all the help.
